Chapeta registers as a macOS Services provider, adding AI-powered actions to the right-click context menu in every app. Select text, right-click, and choose a Chapeta service without switching windows.
How to Set Up
- Install Chapeta and launch it at least once.
- Services are registered automatically during first launch.
- Select any text in any macOS app.
- Right-click and navigate to Services in the context menu.
- Choose "Ask Chapeta", "Summarize with Chapeta", or "Translate with Chapeta".
What You Get
Ask Chapeta
Send selected text as a question. Opens the Chapeta panel with the text pre-filled as your prompt.
Summarize with Chapeta
Instantly generate a concise summary of the selected text. The result appears in the Chapeta panel.
Translate with Chapeta
Translate selected text to your configured target language. Uses your selected model for translation.
Technical Details
Chapeta uses NSServices to register with macOS. The services appear in any app that supports the standard Services menu. Selected text is passed to Chapeta via the macOS pasteboard, processed locally, then routed through Chapeta's API proxy to OpenRouter and your selected model provider.
